Identity should never feel like a question.
It should feel like home.
Why This Matters
Rooted in lived experience.
“Identity should not be hidden or questioned.”
I care deeply about Southern Inuit identity because I live it every day — as a wife, mother of six, and member of a community rooted in tradition. I see firsthand how cultural disconnection and uncertainty can affect confidence, belonging, and voice.
I founded Ilusik to ensure people — especially our youth — can reconnect with their heritage, express it proudly, and feel grounded in who they are. Ilusik is my way of turning lived experience into action: preserving culture, empowering people, and making Southern Inuit identity visible and celebrated.
— Rachel Stone, Founder of Ilusik Labrador Expressions
